Spinnaker
Inspired by sails shaped by the wind, Spinnaker explores movement through fabric rather than structure.
Crafted in silk dupion, the surface is defined by a series of precise tucks and folds, creating a sculptural form that shifts subtly with light and motion. The interplay of shadow across the pleated silk gives the piece a quiet sense of energy, despite its controlled construction.
The composition is both directional and balanced, with the sweeping form designed to frame the face while remaining comfortable and secure.
Created for the Millinery Australia Design Award, it reflects an exploration of fabric manipulation - where technique and material work together to create movement through surface rather than line.
